FOR MAKERS
For makers who want to sell
At SHOKEI STORE, SHOKEI does the listing and selling. All we ask of makers is to make, and to ship when something sells. Show us your background, your achievements and photos of what you have made. SHOKEI reviews them and builds and publishes your maker page and work pages.
1Apply with the form below (free). Short biography, achievements and at least 3 photos
2SHOKEI reviews your application and replies within 3 business days. We then ask for photos, dimensions, materials and lead times of the works to list
3SHOKEI builds and publishes your maker page and work pages. Text and prices are decided together
4When an order comes in, SHOKEI contacts you. Just make it and ship it. After receipt is confirmed, payment is made in a monthly batch: closed at month end, paid at the end of the following month
What we look at in the review
- You make the work yourself (the main processes are done by your own hands or in your own studio)
- The work is made in Japan
- Your background and achievements (awards, exhibitions, press, commissions, training, etc.; reliability of facts matters more than quantity)
- The quality and consistency of what you have made (judged from photos)
Fees
- There is no charge for applying, listing or selling. No registration fee, no monthly fee.
- When a work sells, SHOKEI takes a commission of 20% of the sale price (tax included). For works with free shipping, the shipping cost is deducted from your payout.
- After the customer confirms receipt (automatically 21 days after shipping), the amount less commission is paid in a monthly batch: closed at month end, paid at the end of the following month.
- There are no other fees. You can withdraw your listings at any time.
